Privacy Policy

We keep this list short on purpose.

• What you type in. Your email address when you join. If you use the contact form, also your first name, the topic you pick, and your message.
• Which form you used. We track which sign up form you filled out, so we know what you asked for and can send the right thing.
• How you read the email. Whether you opened it and which links you clicked. This tells us which topics are worth writing more about.
• Basic web info. Your IP address, browser, device, the page that sent you here, and the pages you look at.
• Cookies. Small files that keep the site working and count visits.

Please do not send us private things like health details, your social security number, or bank account numbers. We do not want them and we do not need them.

• To send you the daily email and any notes about your subscription.
• To answer what you send us through the contact form.
• To pick better topics, based on what people actually read and ask about.
• To run the site, keep it safe, and fix it when it breaks.
• To follow the law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address. We do not hand your info to other companies so they can market to you.

We use other companies to run the email and the site. They handle sending email, hosting the website, storing contacts, and counting visits. They only touch your info to do that job for us, under a contract. They are not allowed to use it for themselves.

We may hand over information if the law makes us, through a court order or similar. We may also do it if we truly believe someone is in danger, or to look into fraud or a break in.

We keep your email address as long as you are on the list, plus a little while after, so we can make sure you stay unsubscribed. We keep contact form messages long enough to sort out your question and keep a record. Counts and totals that are not tied to you may be kept for good. You can ask us to delete your info at any time.

• Leave the list. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are out right away.
• See it, fix it, or delete it. Ask and we will show you what we have, correct it, or erase it.
• Turn off tracking. Most browsers let you block cookies. Most email apps let you block images, which stops open tracking.

Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under the law. That includes the EU, the UK, California, and several other US states. You can ask for a copy of your data, tell us to stop using it, and we will never treat you worse for asking. We do this for everyone, no matter where you live.

We take normal steps to protect your info, and we work with known companies that do the same. No system is perfect. We cannot promise that anything sent over the internet is one hundred percent safe.

This site and email are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect info from kids under 13, or under 16 where the local law says so. If you think a child gave us their info, tell us and we will delete it.

The companies that help us may store and handle your info in the United States and other countries. The privacy laws there may be different from the ones where you live. By joining, you agree to that.

We may update this page as the email or the law changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. If we change something big, we will say so in the email itself.
